First Name: Rafe
Last Name: Steelstorm (not the last name he was born with)
Nickname(s): none
Race: Human
Sex/Gender: Male
Age: 20? (he doesn't know his birthdate only the day he met his guardian Durstin)
Class: Slayer
Appearance: At first glance Rafe has a hard serious look about his face as if he is contemplating on a matter most dire. But once he starts talking to someone his face changes to something extremely different. His brown eyes sparkle and all of the hard features seem to melt away. His brown hair is extremely short to keep it out of his eyes so that he can see the world clearly. He tends to wear leather outfits, to offer some protection but also doesn't hinder his movements. He is a somewhat large man, standing around 6' 5", broad shoulders and chest but there is a quickness to his step that would seem impossible for a man of his size.
Personality: Rafe is laid back and somewhat jovial at times. He gets along well with others and tends to be a "team" player. If he has issues with someone he will take that person to the side and do his best to work it out with the other person before doing anything else. Rafe is respectful to his elders and higher ups. He likes the ladies but he isn't a perv and treats them properly. Rafe isn't the smartest cookie in the jar, he knows his numbers and can read but he really doesn't put them use very often. The one thing Rafe is good at his using his sword to protect others. He enjoys the chance to fight to help those who cant help themselves.
Backstory: Rafe doesn't know who his parents are, or if the are even alive. He was left on the doorstep of a man named Durstin. Now Durstin was a very good swordsman. Almost every merchant in Velkia knew who he was and often used him as a caravan guard and he was paid very well. At a somewhat young age Durstin was able to retire and live very well for himself. Then that's when a baby boy showed up on his doorstep one hot stormy night. Now Durstin didn't have a wife ( His soul-mate had died a few years earlier from a sickness that slowly killed her from the inside.) and they didn't have any children. Durstin took the boy in and named him Rafe. He cared for him and brought him up to be a proper young man. He tought him to read and write, taught him the basics of his numbers. But his real schooling started with the sword. Durstin taught Rafe how to move gracefully, to be quick on his feet. To be one with the sword. The sword was extremely heavy at first, but Rafe learned to use that to his advantage. He moved with the weight of the sword to strike and then not be in the same place. Durstin gave him the sur name Steelstorm because with the steel sword in his hands he could strike and then be gone, just like a summer rain storm.
When Rafe was 15 he took on his first caravan job to test his skills. There he met a young human woman by the name of Marta. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She was riding in the caravan to get to Lumbertown to meet her aunt and uncle. She was going to study herbology and was going to study the plant life in the forest. But she never got there alive. The caravan was raided and even though Rafe fought well, a arrow came from out of the forest and hit Marta in the neck, killing her instantly. He doesn't tell many people about that story and it still haunts him till this day. He recently found a flyer in Velkia about the Society of Light needing guards for scholars. He has talked to Durstin about it and with his blessing he has gone out to see what the world has in store for him.
At an early age Rafe seemed to have a knack of finding lost things. It started one day when Durstin and him were sparing and he saw a small glint of in the distance. He asked Durstin to hold and he went off to see what it was. When he got to the spot he saw the glint he knelt down and saw what looked to be something almost fully buried in the ground. Rafe called Durstin over and they started to dig up the unknown object. Before to long Rafe figured out the buried object was something huge so he went to their house to get some shovels. After a few more hours of digging he and Durstin were able to uncover a stone and medal tablet. It stood about 5' tall, 3' wide and almost a foot thick and had markings on it he couldnt read. It was so heavy both of them couldn't carry it. It was getting late so they spent the night by the tablet and waited to let someone know about it in the morning. When the sun came up Durstin went into the city an a short time later came back with a few scholars to determine what the tablet was. This sparked something in Rafe, the thrill of finding something very old, something no one has seen in hundreds of years, filled his mind. The scholars were not able to find out what the tablet was or what the markings meant but they told him and Durstin that as soon as they knew the would let them know. Rafe was able to go to the university an speak with the scholars every so often. He was even allowed to accompany some of them when they went out to find some relic or old object. He learned some of the things a scholar of archeology would know and he even was able to find a few relics with the help of his would be teachers. Now, when he hears that there is some lost relic that needs to be found he packs his things and heads out to find it.

MISC. Info: I plan on RPing with Rafe most of the time so his lvl in game may not represent his real skill. Rafe is always looking for ways to improve his skills with the sword so he is looking for those who will spar and teach him things he doesnt already know.
